ResQVac is a portable, battery-free suction device that clears airway obstructions in seconds using a simple 3-step mechanism. Unlike the Heimlich maneuver — which requires physical strength, correct positioning, and can be difficult to execute under stress — ResQVac works through gentle suction that anyone can generate with a single push-pull motion. No training is required, and the device works for adults, children, and the elderly.
The core innovation is the one-way valve system: once an obstruction is drawn into the transparent collection chamber, the valve prevents it from re-entering the airway with the next compression. This means multiple pump cycles are cumulative — each pull increases the odds of clearing the airway without the risk of pushing the blockage deeper.
Position the mask over the victim's mouth and nose to form an airtight seal. Select the adult or child mask depending on the victim's face size. The flexible mask material conforms to different face shapes to maintain suction.
Push the pump handle downward to compress the suction chamber. This prepares the one-way valve and primes the pump for maximum suction force on the pull stroke. Apply firm, even pressure.
Pull the handle upward sharply to generate suction. The negative pressure draws the obstruction out of the airway and into the transparent collection chamber. Repeat 2–3 times if needed. The one-way valve ensures each pull is safe.
The one-way valve is what separates ResQVac from simpler suction devices. Standard bulb syringes and manual suction tools risk pushing the obstruction back into the airway during the compression (push) stroke. ResQVac's valve closes during compression, ensuring airflow is unidirectional — into the collection chamber, never back down.
The transparent chamber on the end of the device serves a second critical function: visual confirmation. When the obstruction is cleared, you can see it in the chamber. This removes the guesswork from an already stressful situation — you know the blockage is gone before you stop.
ResQVac is a supplement to — not a replacement for — the Heimlich maneuver. Use both together.
The one-way valve design is what makes ResQVac a meaningful advancement over basic suction devices. It eliminates the risk of re-lodging the obstruction and gives rescuers a clear visual indicator that the airway is clear. For families with young children, this kind of confident simplicity can be the difference in a crisis.
